Special Events at St. Mark
Vacation Bible School
During
the summer our kids participate in Vacation Bible School. The unique thing
about our program is that it is held at night so parents can participate. We
have exciting programming for preschoolers-adults during VBS. Everyone comes
together and enjoys a meal between 5:00-6:00pm and then participates in the
activities. This summer our theme will be 'Power Lab.' Join us as we
Discover Jesus' Miraculous Power!
Vacation Bible School 2008 is July 27-31

Rally Day
Every fall we kick off the beginning of our Sunday school year with a huge celebration called Rally Day. During Rally Day we have games, crafts, activities, and inflatable's for the kids to jump on that all surround our theme for the day. Last fall, 2006, our theme was "A Day at the Zoo" complete with a traveling petting zoo for all to enjoy. After the festivities we share in a church-wide picnic out on the lawn. This is a great time to greet old friends and meet new ones! Everyone in the congregation and surrounding neighborhoods are invited to Rally Day each year. Rally Day falls on the first Sunday after Labor Day weekend.
Trick-or-Trunk
Each October we hold a church-wide event around Halloween called Trick-or-Trunk.
This event is held on the west parking lot
of our church and provides children
a place to safely trick or treat for Halloween. Adults from the congregation
come to the church, decorate the trunks of their cars, and pass out candy to
the little ones who come by. Trick-or-trunk is not only safe for the kids but
it also provides a chance for fellowship for the adults who participate. We
encourage you to stop by and check out this event next October!
Christmas Program & Open House
Every year before Christmas our Sunday school children put on a Christmas
program. Each program includes the Christmas Story as well as lots of songs
and scripture readings. We just love to see the kids sharing their faith with
their friends and family through the program! Then immediately following each
program we hold a Christmas Open House complete with Christmas goodies, cookie
decorating, and a visit from Santa. While visiting, Santa shares God’s
love for the children with them. This event provides a chance for families
to gather and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season.
Easter Egg Hunt
Every Spring right before Easter we hold an annual Easter Egg Hunt and Open House. The day begins with Easter crafts, games, a snack, and story about the meaning of Easter and all its symbols. Children birth-fourth grade really enjoy this time with their friends and family! Then, immediately following the open house everyone goes outside for the egg hunt. It is such a joy to see the kids searching and finding eggs with so many surprises inside!
Wednesday Night Meals
All are invited to join us each Wednesday for pizza night. Many families already
have pizza once a week, so forget about turning on that hot oven at home. Why
not sit down with your family at St. Mark to enjoy a hot slice or two? You
can also catch up with your friends or get involved with the many activities
going on each Wednesday night. Salad, garlic bread, fruit, drinks and desserts
will also be served. Please join us!
Milestone Ministries
Each year during the school year we celebrate many milestones in the lives of our children and youth. We offer classes for kids and their parents about various Christian topics throughout the year. After a child has completed a class they then participate in a Sunday Celebration where their milestone is celebrated with the whole congregation. The following is a list of the milestones we celebrate at St Mark and the ages with which we celebrate them.
