At St. Mark, music is an important part of our ministry. We hope you’ll share your musical gifts and be a part of one of the many groups.
During the school year, join the Chancel Choir to be a part of making a joyful noise. Chancel Choir practices on Wednesdays at 7:15pm in the Choir Room in the Worship Center. The Chancel Choir shares music most often at 8:30am traditional services, and occasionally at 11:10am traditional services. Contact Christopher Ellerston to learn more.
Our contemporary services are led by our Praise Band. If you have talent either with instruments or as vocalist, you can be a part of this group! Contact Matt Sammler or Savanna Brauer to get connected.
Ring out the joy of God’s love with the Handbell choir. The handbell choir practices regularly and shares in our traditional services every few weeks. Contact Dean Grannes to lean more.
Children’s Choir (Preschool-Grade 5)
Our Children’s Choir is led by Brianne Schildberg and practices during WoW Wednesday programming. This choir forms the leadership of our Christmas program and Children’s Musical. Learn more on the children’s ministry page.
Youth Musical (Grades 7-12)
Each year the youth of St. Mark put on a broadway-style musical production. Auditions happen in the fall and practices are from January-March. Contact Karen Scribano to get connected to this ministry.
St. Mark Fine Arts Series
The series started as a way for St. Mark to reach out to the greater Des Moines community while simultaneously providing excellent fine arts experiences. Additionally, all fine arts events are free of charge, although freewill donations are accepted in order to enhance and expand the fine arts series. All events for the St. Mark Fine Arts Series are held at St. Mark. Contact Christopher Ellerston for more information.
